hi, my issue is with the ultimate weapon tutorial which has been really gr8 so far but with this series is my first time opening substance painter and i'm having quite a few issues which i've not been able to resolve.

With my ambient occlusion it is giving a dirty look around the edges of my floaters.

I've also not been able to access the wood material provided in the essentials folder, if i try to import this to substance this is the result

Hello Sam!
Personally I wouldn't worry about the outer AO "dust" or whatever we want to call it. It's due to the nature of the floater stuff that the AO bake interpretates it that way.
However the AO is usually just a support to get some interesting texture effects going as some of the modifiers are making use of it. And that means that where we have these bolts in the metal we get some nice extra grime and edgewear thanks to this effect. It will end up looking great one you are done with the texture!

The substance wood material has the "color" unchecked by default. Simply click on color to display it and it will show :)
