Today I've been trying to find the best way to get a low poly and high poly with the same topology with a cylinder boolean cut into another cylinder shape. This had a different set of problems to the cube, and I had to have some and extra loop cut down the middle and an extra tri cut where there was a frustrating little corner that was getting lots of pinching.
I've started to save quad chamfer presets to handle the different situations.
