Hello, i am new to substance painter and i want to know how to create these side stroke details.It as varying height along its length .Pls help.

Hey there :)

My approach would be to create an alpha in Photoshop (or GIMP, anything similar) and import that to your project in Substance Painter (simply drag it into the "Project" shelf and make sure to confirm that you are importing it as an alpha image) :)

After that, you can create a layer with only the Height channel enabled (see image below on the right side).
Now make sure to move the height slider left (to make the shape go inside the surface) or right (to make them pop up).

For this layer, you add a black mask. Inside the mask you can use the brush with the desired alpha texture (which you imported for example) and simply stamp in your details :)
Something I personally prefer is to temporary enable the color channel as well when stamping, as it gives a clear view of where your stamps are ;) Once you're done, you can simply disable the channel ! :icon_thumbsfallout:
