Thanks Lagg! and yeah this unwrap is nothing short of a nightmare, hahaha, but I'm almost halfway through it.

Thanks Carlos!

So I tried something a little different this time with the unwrap. I wanted to make sure all my element uv's stayed group together. I just discovered grouping in max's uv layout (Been in this program for 10 years and only just now discovered that function, lol). So once I had everything unwrapped and element grouped,. I really did not want to go through the pain staking process of packing this all my self, so I tried the pack together, which will keep the groups together, I used the lowest padding possible and it still left quite a few gaps, but I'm going to stick with this and see how my bakes come out. I may try a different program on the next project, just to see if I can get this group packing down to a science.

All that's left now is to start renaming everything and I can start baking.

If anyone knows a better uv program for what I was talking about, let me know.

Well that unwrap looks pretty good, my experiences with autopack are giving me worse results which is why I still pack it together myself (well..with tight deadlines I will let it automatically do the job, but with personal projects I love doing it myself). Because of that, I honestly don't know which software is best to automatically pack UV shells in an efficient way :(

The groups is something I looked at, but..never used actually haha. Might wanna give it a go myself as well :)
Good luck with the baking & texturing process man! :D :thumbsup_dude:

I ended up giving Unfold 3D a try. It actually packed it better and with grouping.

Here is the first of the texturing process. Thought I would post iray render samples of these since my texturing is what needs the most work. Any feedback welcome.

Thanks
