Hey everyone! How are you guys? :icon_partyparrot_top:

In this christmas day I came with a 3ds max problem that I'm struggling with :(

This model that I'm blocking out was symmetrical, and I add those walls in the "ramp" shape by using the shift + drag in the edge mode (image 1), that left me with that backface that I can't just simply cap it (image 2), and I really don't know how to proceed :(

Hey there!

Check if there are not multiple vertices at the corners? or maybe try to connect the vertices at the back. From where did you drag the edges?

Can't really tell what's going on could you post your 3ds max file so I could take a look?

Cheers

Thanks for the reply AiLeiKe!

Hmmm, I was messing around with those verts to try new things, I fliped the black faces so I could connect the outside vertices and it works pretty well (image 1).

But still lefts me those black faces in the other side, I was wondering if this is happening because its a plane, so its suppose to be that way, right? (image 2) But how can I fix that?

Hey there.

Firstly I'd recommend if you're sharing files on the forum to use something like Mega, Dropbox or Google drive. Something that doesn't need the hassle of waiting or logging in for people to check out. :hamster_dance:

I also don't have the same max version as you have, I have 2016. Could you share the obj or fbx files instead?
Make love, not war.
Except for in games... everybody loves war in games. And love, yep, that too.

A plane will always have a "black face" on the opposite side the normal is facing unless you put a two-sided texture on it. If you want both sides to be solid you need to add some thickness.

My problem was pretty much it, I just added a thickness in the geometry, connect some verts and it was solved :)

Sorry about that noob question, I'm a totally noob in 3D modelling so I get stuck pretty easy hahah

Thank you guys for the replys!
