I'm currently working on a terrain with a small village at the center surrounded by snow mountains and trees.

Good start, I think the light already works pretty well and has a nice mood to it.
I just feel that it all looks a bit empty at the moment. It might be a good idea to include a few props and maybe one eye catching big element.
Like.. a boat that is frozen in the sea or maybe a windmill next to the lake covered in snow. Also a bit more variety with the vegetation props might add to it :)

Sounds like a really coool project to me :thumbsup_dude:
Looking forward to see how this will shape up in terms of environment design, like Tim mentioned you might want to start thinking about a primary and eventually secondary focal point to start with :)

In addition to that, I found this cool image, might be interesting to investigate, when I looked at your images my mind told me "Oh...that would be awesome to contain a small fisher village with a pier" :enlightened:
Just my first impression though, I'm curious to see what your vision is about what you want to achieve :)

Nice start. A snow scene is something I would love try when I get around to learning UE4. I found a really amazing tutorial for this kind of thing recently. This artist worked on environments for Uncharted 4, so he obviously knows his stuff. Take a look, it might help you.

I will be eagerly waiting for this project to get complete :) Something I like other than hard surface modelling.
Thank You,
