Hi Everyone ! :icon_sunny:

After the end of my last job in marketing I was really down and didn't know what to do next. I wasn't happy at all, so I searched in myself what would truly make me happy :monkeydance: .
So I came back to my 16 years old me who was found of 3D and art in general. Now it's been a year of hard work to level up my 3D skills.

So I made :
- A youtube channel to force myself to show my progress to keep being motivated.
- A website hopping to catch the eye of a recruiter
- An artstation and sketchfab acount to share with other artist.

Now, what to do next ?
I'm ready to search for a job in the 3D industry. I take everything, even fixing UV's all day long :coolpartyparrot: ... I'm in France so I applied at UBISOFT but I'm not really sure they saw my application drawn in the mass of other dreamers like me.

So what do you think would be the best strategy ?
networking / portfolio / challenges / ...

Hey pixelion8,
I am a bit at the same moment like you right now. I think to get the job is try and error until you make it. You will get a lot of refusals or no feedback of the studio at all. So keep sending out those applications.
The next thing I can recommend is networking! Go to convention where there are people, who already have your desired job and ask them to have a look at your portfolio. Text people on LinkedIn or ArtStation.
The other thing is your portfolio. I would rinse out all the non professional stuff. You have a bit too much! It's better to include images that rock, than a hundred that make your work quality look inconsistent.
Keep it up!
Greetings,
Christoph

Thanks for your answer. Yes networking is indeed a big part. I suck at it ! lol
Maybe this is why I don't get the job.
I hope you will work hard and find your dream job.
In the meantime let's do some 3D !!!!!
