Re: Subistance Erro

Hey there ! :) Those baking issues can be a real headache for sure, but...let's look into this  Judging on the screenshot it kinda looks like something is going on with the UV's... like that some normalmap information is not in place. Did you follow the steps regarding "Create smoothing gr...

Re: Smoothing groups from UV shells

Hey there :) Well I must admit that I don't know about the very in-depth reason why you should do that but...as far as what I learned you simply need them in order to make your normals bake fine. Without these smoothing groups, chances are that you get undesired hard edges OR smoothinggradients at p...

Regarding t...

Re: Substance - Applying a material to a fill layer?

Hey there :) Sorry to read there are some problems you ran into during the process, as I don't have SP2018 (I have 2017) there could be some interface/tool differences... but perhaps it's the same in your case: In the AKM tutorial Tim adds the Parkerized steel material indeed to a fill layer. To wha...

Re: State material editor in Max

The list where these are shown in only shows materials that are currently being used in your scene. :) (It's under the tab "scene materials") Between the [ ] you can find the objects which have these materials applied. Once you assign new materials to these objects, these checkermaterials will be re...

Re: Holes in geometry then to substance painter

Hmm that's quite some strange thing going on there :O Never experienced this myself, so...just some guessing here, hole problem first: - Are the models aligned correctly (I guess they are though)? - Did you unwrap your model before / after you added the holes & connected edges? If you did that later...

Re: Outcome differs from yours following your YT tutorial

Hi GZ! Sorry for the late reply, last weeks are incredibly busy on my side so.. I hope I can help now in one way or another! :) In order to help you the fastest way (and best way) possible is to see what is going on with your model, so...if you could record it, that would be wonderfull! That way it'...

Re: Where can I find out weapon dimensions?

Hey there :) That's indeed quite a challenge sometimes, usually what I do is checking the manufacturer's website to see if I find anything, unfortunately they update the websites sometimes by adding new products and removing older ones so...from there I'd say look out for forums etc, or simply do so...
