Re: Substance - Applying a material to a fill layer?

Hey there :) Sorry to read there are some problems you ran into during the process, as I don't have SP2018 (I have 2017) there could be some interface/tool differences... but perhaps it's the same in your case: In the AKM tutorial Tim adds the Parkerized steel material indeed to a fill layer. To wha...

Re: State material editor in Max

The list where these are shown in only shows materials that are currently being used in your scene. :) (It's under the tab "scene materials") Between the [ ] you can find the objects which have these materials applied. Once you assign new materials to these objects, these checkermaterials will be re...

Re: Holes in geometry then to substance painter

Hmm that's quite some strange thing going on there :O Never experienced this myself, so...just some guessing here, hole problem first: - Are the models aligned correctly (I guess they are though)? - Did you unwrap your model before / after you added the holes & connected edges? If you did that later...

Re: Outcome differs from yours following your YT tutorial

Hi GZ! Sorry for the late reply, last weeks are incredibly busy on my side so.. I hope I can help now in one way or another! :) In order to help you the fastest way (and best way) possible is to see what is going on with your model, so...if you could record it, that would be wonderfull! That way it'...

Re: Where can I find out weapon dimensions?

Hey there :) That's indeed quite a challenge sometimes, usually what I do is checking the manufacturer's website to see if I find anything, unfortunately they update the websites sometimes by adding new products and removing older ones so...from there I'd say look out for forums etc, or simply do so...

Re: Chamfer dilemma and a bit more (Star Wars: Droid Tutorial)

Hey there :) Unfortunately I temporarily have no access to 3Ds Max & Photoshop because I'm about to preform a clean install as a start to upgrade my system a bit, but ...I'm lucky to have Paint installed :monkeydance: So uhm yea, regarding the issue of the hole, here's something I'd do in this case,...

Re: Creating PBR material from a 3d scan

Hey there :) Well, if its free to download and if you are indeed allowed to use it as personal non commercial use...I guess it's just fine. Make sure to make proper credits if you show it anywhere though. And if you are not sure about it, you can eventually contact the author of the uploaded model a...

Re: Chamfer "problem" maybe

Hmmmz according to what I see, it could be you need to Reset Xform your object (and collapse it back to editable poly) and re-apply your chamfer modifier  :enlightened:
Usually when strange things like that happen, this would be my first step and see if it works :)

Re: Glock 17 ZEV Custom

Wonderfull result Carlos, gotta love these Glocks :icon_clappedi:
I love the well defined materials, with tiny details that really make me want to test the grip :)
What I mean by that is that the materials feel really alive man, interesting normal & roughness information :thumbsup_dude:

Re: M1A1 Thompson - Final

Oh yesss...I love this M1A1 <3 :realization: You did a fantastic job on this one man, model & materials are quite fitting my taste, presentation looks good as well to me :icon_thumbsfallout: I love the subtlety in terms of damage and wear, something I enjoy just as much as a totally worn off gun, we...
